The Cornish Bakery in Beverley has chosen the Beverley Cherry Tree Community Centre as its charity of the year for 2024.

The bakery, based on Toll Gavel, is keen to support local causes in shops across the country, and staff at the Beverley store have decided to champion a charity that is close to residents of the town.

The Cherry Tree Community Centre supports people across Beverley, the surrounding villages and beyond, offering advice, a food pantry, a youth club and being the home of Little Gruffalos Pre-School.

Fundraising events, such as raffles, will be taking place in the Cornish Bakery throughout the year for customers to get involved in.

Manager of the Cherry Tree Centre, Jo Ramsay, said: “It feels great and an honour that the Cornish Bakery have chosen us as their charity for 2024.

“When I have spoke to people who I know or from the Cherry Tree Centre, they are really excited that we have been chosen.”
