Beverley Community Shop & Food Pantry

During lockdown the centre manager, trustees, staff, and volunteers worked incredibly hard to support the community. Seeing the struggles people were facing and the number of families going without food, they quickly identified there was a need for a community pantry. The Cherry Tree Pantry was formed.

 Our community shop and pantry are here top support local families and individuals, helping people access affordable food and essential items while reducing food waste.

We are open Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays and we are always grateful for the amazing support we receive from our local community businesses, shops, and the local community.

As demand grows, we need your help to keep our shelves stocked. Donations of food, toiletries and household essentials are always much appreciated. Every donation, no matter how small makes a difference.

We are always looking for volunteers to help support our shop and community pantry. Volunteers’ shifts are just 2 hours shifts and it’s a great way to meet people and support your community and make a real difference.

Once a membership form has been filled in and a slot allocated, members pay a £5 weekly membership and visit the pantry once a week. This allows them to receive 10 items from a selection including fresh meat, cheese, butter, frozen items, tinned items, cereals and hygiene/cleaning products etc as well as bread, pastries and fresh fruit and vegetables.

The Beverley Cherry Tree Community Pantry is here to help anyone in need. Our volunteers are all warm and welcoming and will help and support you when you visit. We understand the crisis is affecting everyone, working, pensioners, disabled, redundancy and sometimes an unexpected bill can affect all areas of your life.
